About Us

Founded in 1998, Fordham Women in Business is one of the most active clubs on campus, with more than 200 current members and 800 alumni. While many of the club’s activities are geared toward women, men are actively encouraged to join the organization and attend events.

FWiB’s mission is to embody the spirit of community, opportunity, and development. The club passionately supports the confluence of students, alumni, and area professionals to create an open forum of mentoring and teamwork. FWiB helps students build meaningful relationships with other women working in business, providing professional development opportunities and expert advice through networking events, a mentor program, workshops, and guest speakers.

The flagship event of the year is FWiB’s annual conference, held during the fall trimester. The 2013 conference, "Leading for Change," was attended by about 200 students, alumni, professors, and sponsoring companies, making the conference a terrific networking opportunity for all Fordham students.

In addition to the conference, FWiB holds about 10 events each trimester, including volunteer days with God’s Love We Deliver and Dress for Success, company visits, guest speakers, and mentor program events. An annual case competition offers student teams cash prizes of $3,500 (first place) and $1,500 (second place); this year’s theme will be announced in the fall.

The best and easiest way to get involved with FWiB is by attending events like the conference, networking nights, and volunteer activities.
